Sunland shipping new Digistor 8X dual DVD burner
Sunland announced at CES that it is shipping its new Digistor 8X Dual DVD Burner.
With the announcement, SLI becomes one of the first to offer an enhanced DVD±R/RW drive capable of writing to both DVD-R and DVD+R media at 8x speed. Equipped with a
combination USB 2.0/ FireWire interface for plug-and-play PC connectivity and
a complete suite of DVD authoring, editing, recording and playback software,
the Digistor 8x Dual DVD Burner provides a high-speed storage solution for video,
audio and data; for backup/recovery and for digital archiving.
In addition to providing 8x performance with write-once DVD±R media, the Digistor drive supports 4x- speed writes and rewrites with DVD-RW and DVD+RW media. It also writes CD-R media at 32x speed as well as Ultra-Speed CD-RW discs at 16-24x. The drive's fast access time of 140 ms for DVD and 120ms for CD combines with read speeds of 12x for DVD-ROM and 40x for CD-ROM to enhance productivity and improve workflow.
The Digistor DVD Burner features a high-resolution writing strategy that uses advanced laser modulation to enhance the accuracy of the written data. It also monitors the write speed and reflectivity of the media that is being used and calculates the optimum laser power. Advanced buffer under run technology is also included to prevent errors in the event of a system slowdown or interruption.
The multimedia software bundled with the Digistor 8X Dual DVD Burner provides users with the tools they need to produce professional-looking slideshows and videos. Designed to make the entire movie-making process fast and easy, the multimedia software can be used to capture video and edit it to delete scenes and add transitions, titles, music, narration, and special effects. Users can also add video chapters and choose from a number of DVD background templates. Finalized videos can be burned to CD or DVD for playback on almost any home DVD player or computer DVD drive.
