Internal and External Indi DVD Models Provide Versatile, High-Speed Recording Solutions for Desktop and Notebook Users.

TDK is introducing two new Indi DVD Multiformat burners which will be available in internal and external configurations. The new Indi DVD Multiformat burners record DVD+R media at 12x speed and DVD-R media at 8x speed. Both drives record DVD+R/+RW, DVD-R/-RW and CD-R/RW discs, and offer the highest playback compatibility with home DVD players and computer drives. They are the ideal DVD and CD recording solutions for notebook and desktop computer users.

Both models burn DVD+R media at 12x, DVD-R media at 8x and CD-R media at 48x. In addition, the drives are capable of recording 8x DVD+R media at 12x speed, as well as 48x CD ripping capabilities.

The sixth generation DVD burner from TDK, the internal Indi DVD Multiformat is suited for desktop PC users while the external Indi DVD Multiformat burner features both FireWire/IEEE 1394 and USB 2.0 connectivity and provides plug-and-play installation, without the need to open the computer’s case, suited for notebook computers, or it can be shared in a household or small office with multiple PCs.

The new Indi DVD drives make it quick and easy to archive data and complete multimedia projects. Users can store up to two hours of high-resolution DVD-quality footage (or up to four hours of better-than-VHS-quality footage) on a single 4.7GB DVD.

Both models include DVD Builder™, Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator™ 6.2, Roxio DVDMax™ and PhotoSuite® Lite. Within minutes of completing the installation, users can begin backing up important files and large amounts of data, or start ripping and recording MP3 and audio files. They can even create a DVD that incorporates digital images, video footage and background music – all on one disc.

Indi DVD’s powerful DVD Builder™ video editing software gives users the ability to create impressive DVD videos, through an intuitive interface that allows users to readily import and edit footage, arrange scenes, add transitions, professional-quality menus, special effects, graphics, titles and music.

The external Indi DVD Multiformat (model DED+1280; $269.99 ESP) will be shipping in July 2004.
