VirtualLab Data Recovery 3.0.9

VirtualLab Data Recovery 3.0.9

Enterprise & IT Nov 8,2003 0

VirtualLab will rescue lost data in just about any data-loss scenario, including from files that have been lost by formatting, partition damage, virus or directory destruction, and a myriad of other data-loss problems. It will even recover accidentally deleted files from the Recycle Bin. It works on all Windows file systems, including FAT12, -16, -32, and NTFS. It will rescue data from hard drives, camera cards, Zip and Jaz disks, floppy disks, and other devices that Windows can assign a drive letter to, even if Windows cannot see the device. It comes with a built-in chat client for getting help. You can save up to 1MB of data at no charge to preview the results of the recovery.

Recovery works on most forms of formatted and damaged media, including digital cameras, it does not support CD and DVD recovery. Though it's a bit confusing, the interface carefully guides you through the restoration process. To focus your search, you can specify the name, type, time characteristics, or size of a lost file, but you can't search for contained text. You can preview the found files, including JPEG images, before recovering them. The main issue is that you install only a client that the company's server commands over the Internet. On the one hand, you pay only for the files you restore at a rate of $100 per GB. On the other hand, you may encounter Internet costs and security issues--and if your PC doesn't boot at all, you're out of luck.
