WPC Expo 2004: DVD+RW Alliance demonstrates 8x DVD+R DL recording
During the WPC Expo exhibition in Japan, the DVD+RW Alliance was present with a large booth, demonstrating the latest advances made in DVD+R, DVD+RW and DVD+R Double Layer technology.
Besides new products being demonstrated by a large number of participating companies, visitors could watch a both entertaining and informative dance event at the DVD+RW Alliance booth.
Among the new technologies being demonstrated was 16x DVD+R recording, the fastest writing speed available in the industry. Furthermore, the Alliance announced the development of 8x DVD+R Double Layer recording (up from the initial 2.4x speed), allowing recording times needed to write a full 8.5 GB disc to be cut to about one third, to under 16 minutes.
More information about this exciting technology will be available very soon.
