Plasmon Doubles the Capacity of Enterprise Class UDO Appliances
Plasmon today announced the new enterprise class UDO Archive Appliance with twice the capacity, multi archive support, enhanced security features and energy efficiencies.
The newest version of the Plasmon UDO Archive Appliance enables multiple
applications to use the Archive Appliance as a consolidated storage device but
maintain unique storage pools and policies. Data for each application can be
stored in separate, secure archives and individual policies can be applied to
each archive to enable IT managers to meet the strictest of service level
agreements for performance, cost and protection.
Plasmon?s enterprise class Archive Appliance helps customers manage more varied and complex scenarios including meeting growing IT compliance and governance requirements. For example, e-mail messages may have different retention policies and requirements than compliant documents. As such, Plasmon?s Archive Appliance automates the placement of data on the appropriate archival pool according to unique policies for retention, disaster recovery and media management.
The Plasmon Archive Appliance has made the integration into IT environments easier with improved Windows and security support combined with industry standard file system interfaces. UDO Guard, a first response to maintaining the privacy of data, also has been implemented to protect data in transit by providing a unique password for all media.
