GIGABYTE and Team Indonesia Win F1 OC FSB Challenge
In related news, GIGABYTE announced that the highest front side bus (FSB) score in the October, 2009 F1 OC Highest FSB Challenge was achieved by Team Indonesia using a GIGABYTE GA-EP45T-EXTREME motherboard and Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 processor.
The result resets the FSB world record to a whopping 750.92MHz, while the GIGABYTE GA-EP45T-EXTREME?s front side bus achieved a total overclock of 3003.69MHz.
The F1 OC competition is held by TheOverclocker.com and brings together the world?s top overclockers representing 13 different countries. October?s event ran from October 1st to 31st, where participants had to submit their FSB scores via an emailed CPU-Z submission.
The new FSB world record of FSB 750.92MHz from Team Indonesia?s Benny Lodewijk using a GA-EP45T-EXTREME motherboard
FSB has been the most important overclocking benchmark for over 30 years (when overclocking first began) because it is the most direct way to improve CPU performance. Achieving an FSB of 750Mhz requires outstanding tweaking skills while maintaining temperatures of -100°C on the CPU and -50°C on the North Bridge for stable operation at such high frequencies. Team Indonesia?s FSB of 750.92Mhz resulted in a CPU speed of 3003.69MHz ? an overclock of 225% on a stock Intel E8500 CPU.
