Malaysia unable to stop exaggerated growth of piracy
As part of an anti piracy program Malaysian authorities seized more than 3 million illegal software, music and video discs.
Despite this and many other efforts to stop piracy,
Malaysia still remains one of the worst offenders with discs in Johor Bahru city,
bordering Singapore, sold for six ringgit ($1.58) a piece.
One of the biggest victims of the Malaysian piracy is Microsoft, the 10 percent of which latest turnover came from Asia-Pacific. Because of this now Microsoft besieges Malaysian authorities to do more to fight piracy.
