Horizontal Airflow Management Design Eliminates Circulation of Hot Air for Fast Heat Dissipation. Cools down all systems based on LGA775, Socket 478, K8 and K7 platforms.

With the unique Smart Clip Set and horizontal layout, the fan on the ASUS Star Ice CPU Cooler always faces the chassis? rear ventilation holes. Heat generated by the CPU is immediately vented out, preventing hot air from circulating within the case and the result is cool, reliable computers. Advanced airflow management combined with copper heat sink and heat pipes enable the Star Ice to support high-performance gaming systems based on LGA775, Socket 478, K8 and K7 platforms. It is a convenient and cost-effective cooling solution for those who upgrade their systems and switch between platforms. One CPU cooler for all platforms!

Hot air right out of the case

The Star Ice incorporated a horizontal design and bundled the unique Smart Clip Set. These two innovative features allow the fan to always point towards the chassis? rear ventilation holes regardless of CPU locations and motherboards layouts. When the heat sink absorbs the heat generated by the CPU, the fan immediately vents out the hot air, successfully preventing the heat from circulating within the case. For extreme cooling, it also permits a second rear fan.

Effective heat conducting

The entire heatsink of the Star Ice is made of copper, an excellent thermal conductor. The copper heatsink base quickly conducts the heat away from the processor and the three high-quality powdered heat pipes effectively and evenly transfer the heat to the soldered stacked fins, which provide a large heat exchange area compared with conventional fin designs.

Intelligent fan control

The Star Ice adopted both manual and automatic control systems for optimal fan speed.
Auto mode: A heat sensor intelligently detects system temperature and automatically adjusts fan speeds. Enjoy quiet computing during word processing or high-speed cooling for 3D gaming without lifting a finger.

Manual mode: For enthusiasts who need precise fan control for high-performance computing, the Star Ice allows them to manually tweak fan speeds on a control knob placed convenient at the front or rear PCI slot panels of the system.
