DVD Forum's Suggestions On Regional Codes For Players and Discs Sold in the Baltic Countries

Consumer Electronics Mar 31,2011 0

The DVD Forum has announced recommendations for the Regional Codes of DVD players and discs that will be sold in the Baltic Countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania), which joined the European Union (EU) in 2004. The DVD players that are sold in the Baltic Countries, could be coded as either Region 2 or Region 5. In cases where a DVD player manufacturer wants its players to play discs coded as region 2 and 5, the DVD Forum would also accept it.

The DVD Forum also recommends that newly-authored region-coded DVD Video discs sold in the Baltic Countries should be coded for at least Regions 2 and 5.
