Addlink P30 1TB Portable SSD
3. Tests
For our tests, we connected the P30 1TB Portable SSD with its cable at an Asus X670E ProArt motherboard at the 40Gbps Type-C port to get the best possible performance. Connecting with other lower-rated TypeC ports (20Gbps) will result drop in the maximum reading/writing speeds, so keep that in mind before buying. Let's see what performance users should expect from this small gem. Starting with the CrystalDiskMark 3.0.4 we see promising performance, doesn't work so well with NVME SSDs
Passing to newer versions, we see around 3.1GB/sec reading and around 2.7GB/sec writing performance.
TXBench also reports similar performance:
The ATTO Disk Benchmark also gives more or less similar results:
Real-world tests, aka copying files with FastCopy software, showed that 45GB size files do not slow down.
While with bigger files we do see a performance decrease, probably because the buffer of the drive fills up and we get around 1.02GB/sec writing speed.
And lastly, what about temps? SMART reports around 39~53 Celsius, depending on the working state and intensive workloads.
