Amazon Alexa Now Available on Windows Store for PCs
Amazon is bringing the Alexa digital assistant to all Windows 10 devices, with the app to be already listed on the Windows Store.
The app is available in the Windows Store, for PC users in the UK, US, and Germany, with more countries coming in 2019.
Using the app, Windows 10 users can use their voices to "command" their PCs, do things like check their calendars, create lists, play music, check the weather, shop fon Amazon.com, or even control smart home devices.
Amazon Alexa has been already pre-installed in just a few PC systems from the likes of Acer, HP, and Lenovo.
However, it seems that not all features found in Amazon's devices are there. For example, reports suggest that Spotify and Pandora don’t play with PC Alexa right now. And hands-free modes are typically not supported in most PCs.
Around 50,000 Amazon skills are available to Alexa users and Amazon promises some more PC specific skills are in the pipeline.
