AMD Announces Ryzen 4000 APUs
AMD is announcing three Ryzen APU processors based on a 7nm Renoir design for AM4 desktop sockets, so yes, they do fir on your AMD X570 or B550 motherboard. The flagship APU will feature eight cores and 16 threads and is the Ryzen 7 4700G. The product clocks in at 3.6 and 4.4 GHz for base and turbo frequencies, respectively. The GPU based on VEGA architecture is clocked at 2.1 GHz. The 4700G has 8 Graphics Cores totaling towards 512 Shader Processors, Vega architecture based. A model with six cores and 12 threads is be called Ryzen 5 4600G in its end has six cores and 12 threads and has a base clock of 3.7 GHz with boost ability up to 4.2 GHz. It has 448 Shader processors enabled. The lowest rated APU in the 65W stack is the 4300G with four CPU cores and thus eight threads. It has 384 shader cores active.
35 Watt APUs
AMD will also launch the GE series of APUs, these are the more energy-friendly parts rated at a TDP of just 35W. We listed these in the table below including the specs. Below that you can find a presentation deck.
Athlon 3000 G-Series
AMD today releases three Athlon 3000 G-Series processors. There are two and four core products, lack Hyperthreading for the 4 core parts (the two core does get 4 threads), and run a max clock up-to 3.9 GHz for the 65W part. The two lower SKUs run 35W.
