AMD Introduces The Radeon HD 8970M Graphics Card for Notebooks
AMD today launched the AMD Radeon HD 8970M, the company's fastest notebook graphics card.
Featuring AMD's GCN Architecture, the AMD Radeon HD 8970M GPU features AMD's Enduro Technology, which allows the AMD Radeon HD 8970M GPU to optimize battery life. The power features are dynamic, delivering instant performance when needed and adjusting GPU requirements when in idle mode.
AMD Eyefinity technology allows for multi-display gaming spread across several different monitors, while AMD App Acceleration harnesses the compute power of the GPU to take workload off the CPU and provide performance in everyday applications.
Obviously, the 7970M is identical to the 8970M except that it lacks the 900MHz Boost clock. Both are based on the Pitcairn core, with 1200MHz GDDR5 (4.8GHz effective).
AMD's Radeon 8970M and Richland A10-5750M are both available in MSI's new GX70 3BE gaming notebook.
