Apple Drops "4G" Branding From iPad
Apple has changed the iPad 'WiFi+4G' branding to 'WiFi+Cellular' globally amid complaints.
The move comes after Australian consumer complained that Apple's new tablet does not support Australia's current 4G networks.
The "WiFi + 4G" tablet, which went on sale in March, is now advertised as a "WiFi + Cellular" device on Apple Australia?s website. In addition, the device appears with the disclaimer, "This product supports very fast cellular networks. It is not compatible with current Australian 4G LTE networks and WiMAX networks."
Apple has also removed the "4G" claim from advertising accompanying the new tablet in countries around the world.
