Apple Sells Used Products in China
Apple said on Tuesday that it had started selling second-hand Apple products on its Chinese official website at discounted prices, with products to include iMacs and iPods.
The company looks to beef up its business in the country and second-hand sales could be appealing to cost-conscious shoppers in China.
These are products that were previously sold and returned to Apple. The products have undergone a renovation process to meet the quality standards of Apple. The company said that it had undergone overall tests and the defective parts were replaced with new ones. In addition, these products are cleaned, re-packed with new instructions and provided with relevant operating software. Every refurbished product will also have a new serial number.
Apple offers a one-year warranty period for these refurbished products.
Apple's iMac is sold at a 12% discount, while iPod Shuffle and iPod Nano are 22% off the suggested retail prices.
