The Arctic Freezer 36 Black (without any ARGB lighting) costs around 20.51 Euro, which makes it a very affordable air cooler with dual 120mm fan support. The normal price is 37.51 Euro and for a limited time, Arctic will offer such reduced retail price for its loyal fans. The retail package is small and includes many different logos at the front, indicating the product's main features. There are ARGB variations of the same product with a 24.95 Euro retail price, so if ARGB is the way to go, there is a small additional fee.

Opening the box, we will find a very secure retail package, nothing moves and everything is in its place. The product supports Intel (LGA1851 | LGA1700) and all recently released AMD sockets (AM4/AM5).

There are many contents included for installing this product and are placed in one plastic bag. We would like for Arctic to separate or include a better indication of which screws are for which platform (Intel/AMD). There is a small plastic bag with screws and AMD mounting brackets, while for the Intel sockets, Arctic introduces its contact frame, which means you need to remove what your motherboard has and use this instead.

Arctic mentions that Intel's Independent Loading Mechanism (ILM) deforms the CPU by pressing it into the socket at two points with over 40 kg. This causes pressure in the PCB, the DIE, and the solder layer between the DIE and IHS (Integrated Heat Spreader). With high thermal load, this can lead to long-term problems. The mounting frame from ARCTIC does not deform the CPU, reduces the mechanical load on the CPU massively, is quick and easy to install, and allows the cooler to be screwed onto the CPU's backplate. As a result, mechanical stress on the mainboard and CPU is minimized, cooling performance remains consistent and installation is quick and uncomplicated. At the retail package, you will find also 0.8gr of Arctic MX-6 thermal paste for two uses. Arctic does include online guide for installing the AIO cooler, either for Intel or AMD.

Let's now see the product. The Arctic Freezer 36 is a small-sized product. Its weight with the two fans is around 890gr. This is the first ever product we see with a clever fan mount mechanism, both fans have pre-installed screws which are secured at the main CPU cooler body, for easy installation.

The Freezer 36 has 159mm height (measured from the top), while there is a 46mm height clearance at both sides for memory compatibility. The width of the CPU coolers with both 120mm fans installed is 126mm, while the length is around 104mm.

The Freezer 36 includes a CPU contact base made with 4 heat pipes of 6 mm Ø made out of copper. The rest building material is Aluminium with 59 pieces stacked 0.4 mm each.

The Freezer 36 uses 2x P12 PWM PST that can be rotated from 200 up to 1800 rpm, is PWM Controlled (0 rpm below 5 % PWM), has Fluid Dynamic Bearing technology, and includes a 200 mm + 80 mm Splitter Cable. Due to its cabling, you can connect them in a row so you need only one cable connected to the motherboard.

Here is what the product looks like when both 120mm fans are installed.
