The Freezer 36 is the latest air cooler from the Arctic and promises high performance, look, and low..retail price. For a limited amount of time, Arctic offers all of their lineup at discount prices so users can benefit from it. We find the Freezer 36 to be a very interesting option/proposal, due to its very low retail price and the dual 120mm fan design. Users have five different variations to decide which one fits their needs and look.

The Freezer 36 is a single tower design, that packs two 120mm fans, all designed by Arctic. The product supports the latest Intel and AMD platforms, however, users should note that older Intel sockets are not supported. This happens due to the decision Artic made to include their contact frame for the Intel CPUs to improve performance. This will take additional steps from users to install but promises higher performance as well. We tested only with the AMD platform, which has easy installation, and in any case, you can either view the online guide that Arctic offers of the video guide. At the retail package, you will also find a small two-dose thermal paste, the Arctic MX-6 formula. The 120mm fans can be installed very easily and we found the overall installation easy to accomplish (with the AMD platform).

Passing to the performance, while we saw a mixed view, at low TDPs not so great performance, at higher TDPs better performance, we have a reason for this situation. Both fans under 10% will not start and their rotation curve goes towards the silent operation, which affects performance. With the 170TDP and 222TDP, the higher the produced temperature, the higher the RPMs are so better performance. We can say that this CPU, despite its medium dimensions can handle without any problem the AMD 7950X even when overclocked (no thermal throttling) and at lower TPDs, if you better adjust the rotation fan curve you can get very good results. For comparison reasons, we left the rotation curve default, so performance got a penalty.

The best part about this CPU cooler is its retail price. At the time of the writing, the retail price of 20.71 Euro sounds very hard to pass, especially when compared with Noctua and be quiet! fans that "may" deliver better performance, but cost even up to x3/x4 times. To conclude our review, we find the Freezer 36 series, an honest product with great aesthetics and overall performance, you cannot beat that retail price, it earns our Best Buy Award, hurry up if you are in the market for a new CPU cooler. Oh, we almost forgot that this product also has a 6-year warranty, great job Arctic.
