Ashampoo to Support Blu-ray
The next maintenance release of the Ashampoo Burning Studio 5 (v5.5) will add support for the new Blu-ray Disc format.
The softwatre will support the Bluray format in
addition to the established CD and DVD formats. The company claims that the integration of Blu-Ray burning is seamless, since Blu-ray Discs are burned in exactly the same way as any other disc.
"Because ease of use is very important for us we really didn't want to have a special 'Blu-ray mode'. Users don't care about the specific technical details, they just want to burn their files to a disc", the project leader Jan-Eric Duden said.
"So we invested considerable time to implement a system that automatically detects the disc type and adjusts the details of the burning process accordingly, depending on whether it is a CD, DVD or Blu-ray disc", he continued.
The new version of the Ashampoo Burning Studio 5 (v5.5) is currently undergoing final testing and is expected to be released shortly.
Ashampoo, as well as the majority of the software developers have not implemented either the Blu-Ray or HD DVD formats in their current software versions, since the specifications have not yet been 100% finalized.
