The faster drive is ASUS with an average reading speed of 39.54X. This is the faster result ever measured from a CD-RW drive. The SONY220E1 follows with 38.25X and the AOpen CRW5224 comes last with 38.05X.

The seek times of the ASUS drive are higher than SONY's. In the random seek mode, the difference is really small, but the drive seems to be slower in the 1/3 and full modes.

With CD-R media, the ASUS drive continues to lead the race, while the SONY CRX220E1 has improved its performance to 39.33X.

The ASUS drive lowered its seek times with CD-R media and got the first place.

The ASUS drive read the US-RW media at 31.15X. The AOpen takes the lead with a full 48X CAV reading performance.
