ASUS Graphics Cards Now Comes with Splendid Video Enhancement

ASUS Graphics Cards Now Comes with Splendid Video Enhancement

GPUs Jun 9,2005 0

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. (ASUS), a leading provider of high-performance graphics solutions, today introduced Splendid Video Enhancement technology , an all-new graphics card innovation that detects activation and usage of video applications and automatically optimizes image quality for best visual results. Splendid Video Enhancement is built into ASUS graphics card drivers, which can be easily downloaded from ASUS' company home page.

“Graphics quality has become one of the most important features in personal computing as more and more people are using their computers for games, movies and image editing,” said Jerry Shen, General Manager of ASUS Graphics Business. “Splendid Video Enhancement is a significant step forward in PC home entertainment, because video representation on computers is finally as good as on the best TVs.”

The missing link of PC-based entertainment

Videos played on a PC never look as good as on a TV, because most PCs do not come equipped with the image-processing unit commonly found in consumer electronic display devices. The images lack depth and appear grayish, which is one of the main reasons why many users are reluctant to build a home entertainment system with their computers in the past. Splendid Video Enhancement is the missing link that improves video display on monitors to satisfy the high visual demands of movie buffs, hardcore sport fans and 3D gamers.

Vivid Colors

Splendid Video Enhancement takes PC graphics capability to the next level by enhancing depth and color intensity in real time. The advanced Area Pixel Processing Algorithm carefully evaluates each pixel in every frame and adjusts them based on smaller regions without affecting the whole picture. Colors in each region are dynamically optimized according to conditions most favorable to the human eye. Splendid is especially effective for human skin tones, green stretches of grass and trees and blue sky and sea.

More Detail Image Even in Dark Scenes

The new feature not only enhances the colors, but also presents more image detail than competing solutions. Like the human eye, which balances the overall brightness and color contrast of the world we see, Splendid is programmed to adjust the brightness output level of the dark areas in each frame to bring out every image detail even during dark and rainy scenes.

Splendid Video Enhancement is now available with latest ASUS graphics cards right out of the box. For current owners of ASUS graphics cards, please visit the ASUS homepage to download new drivers.
