Asustek to expand server sales
Asustek plans to expand sales of its own-brand servers from the current two markets of Taiwan and China to include areas that include Europe and countries in the Asia-Pacific region, according to company sources.
The company aims to boost its server shipments by 50% in 2004, counting on the market expansion plan and the October launch of its own-brand Nocona-based servers, the sources said.
Server sales currently account for just 3% of Asustek's overall revenues, with 60% of its servers sold to OEM clients (which include IBM) and 40% sold as own-brand, according to the sources.
