ASUSTOR Releases ADM 4.3 – The Data Security Update

ASUSTOR Releases ADM 4.3 – The Data Security Update

Enterprise & IT Apr 17,2024 0

ADM 4.3 is here and makes the best NAS operating system even better. ADM 4.3 improves data security in numerous ways including, but not limited to enhancing WORM functionality, checking and blocking IP addresses with high-risk levels, and enabling automatic dismounts of MyArchive drives, which enables ADM 4.3 to take a security-first approach.

WORM - Write Once, Read Many
ASUSTOR continues its commitment to protect data security inside an ASUSTOR NAS with the introduction of WORM, a technology that helps prevent modification of data. WORM means Write Once, Read Many. This means that once data has been written, it can be read, but not modified. Apply WORM to a shared folder to provide an additional layer of protection for important data. WORM shared folders can prevent partial or complete modification of important data within a set retention period to comply with various regulatory standards for data retention and ensure that valuable data such as intellectual property rights and business secrets are protected from unauthorized tampering, including, but not limited to attacks from malware.

Consulting with the Database
ADM 4.3 introduces the risk list as an official feature. The risk list will be able to record suspicious IPs, compare them through the AbuseIPDB database, and filter suspicious IPs to prevent high-risk IPs from connecting to your NAS. ADM's multiple active protection mechanisms can help reduce the risk of attacks, and prevent data leakage, unauthorized tampering, or malicious encryption, thereby protecting the integrity of important data and ensuring corporate information security.

Safer and Easier Scheduled MyArchive Backups
ADM 4.3 officially supports automatic mounting and dismounting of MyArchive drives when backing up important data from an ASUSTOR NAS to a MyArchive drive. ADM will automatically mount a connected MyArchive when a backup begins, and automatically eject a MyArchive drive after the backup is complete. In addition to making performing 3-2-1 backups easier than ever, MyArchive drives are more comprehensively protected from various threats due to a different set of risks that complement the risks to data on a NAS.

ADM 4.3 supported models: AS31, 32, 40, 61, 62, 63, 64, Nimbustor, Nimbustor Gen2, Drivestor, Drivestor Lite, Drivestor Pro, Drivestor Pro Gen2, Lockerstor, Lockerstor Gen2, Lockerstor Pro, Flashstor
WORM system requirements: AS52, 53, 54, Lockerstor, Lockerstor Gen2, Lockerstor Pro, Flashstor
