ATI's Upcoming Chips
Website Hexus.net has posted some information on the naming scheme for ATI's upcoming R5xx based graphics cards.
According to the information, ATI have some more cards coming and they will have the following names:
X1800 which is based on the R520 VPU.
X1600 which is their mid range SKU based on RV530.
X1300 is their low-end SKU based on RV515.
All new cores are expected to be available by mid-October.
The website also claims there will be a GTO and GTO2 version of the GT brand. The GTO is a 12 pipeline GT, and GTO2 is X800XL (16 pipeline GT).
Crossfire, ATI's multi-graphics chip technology is also prepared for launch. Early information indicate that a typical board, will not be priced below the $200 mark at launch.
Additionally, Crossfire master cards will not be quite what many users would consider cheap. At least pricewise, Crossfire is indicated to be a higher-end solution that leaves the mainstream completely to Nvidia.
