The be quiet! Silent Base 802 comes in a large box and weights around ~13.5kg, so it’s not a big box either but has a lot of internal space for your needs. The exact product dimensions are mentioned below. From size point of view we can say it’s a middle-sized case.

A unique feature of this product are the two included front and top panels, which can be changed to get either better acoustics or better airflow. The overall procedure is very easy to be performed.

Two different front panels

Two different top panels

All panels include the be quiet! logo either on top or front area. The side window panel has 401 x 431mm dimensions and from factory has plastic protector, which of course can be removed.

The front I/O panel includes a variety of ports for all your needs. Starting from the left area, we will find a switch that controls the included Fans, a USB 3.2 Gen. 2 Type C connector, a headphone, microphone hack, the power button, leds for HDD and two USB 3.2 Gen. 1 Type A ports.

Removing the front and side panels, we can see the three pre-installed 140mm Pure Wing 2 fans. They should be enough for your needs, but you can add more fans if you wish. You can install up to three 120/140mm fans at the front and top panel and one at the bottom for extra cooling.

An exploded view of the case and be found below. There are two removable dust filters, on at the front and one at the bottom. There are also many insulation mats (top, front, side panel) and anti-vibration protection for the HDD cage, front/back Fan, PSU area and motherboard tray:

The case has many 2.5" and 3.5" bays for your storage needs. With the included brackets, it can hold up to three (3) 3.5"HDDs and/or seven (7) 2.5" HDD/SSDs. Users can buy additional HDD trays if they wish and upgrade up to seven (7) 3.5" and/or fifteen (15) 2.5" storage devices. All HDD bays are metallic and have insulation for less vibrations and noise. They also have pre-installed thumb screws for easy access. For the PSU you can install up to 288mm length:

The case supports the installation of various water-cooling solutions as well. The max. construction height of CPU cooler unit is 185 (mm), while the maximum radiator that can fit to this case is listed below:

  • Front (mm) 120 / 140 / 240 / 280 / 360 / 420
  • Top (mm) 120 / 240 / 360
  • Rear (mm) 120 / 140

In case you are wondering if this case can fit big VGA cards the answer is yes. If you have installed a HDD case in the height of the VGA are, it can fit up to 287mm, while if you don’t up to 432mm. A GeForce RTX 3090 is rated at 336 mm x 140 mm x 61 mm so it can fit without any issues. Dual VGA option is also a possibility with this case.

With the retail box users will also get several goodies, like screws, and cable ties.
