'Dubbing 10' Finally Begins in Japan
The Association for Promotion of Digital Broadcasting said Monday it has decided to begin on July 4 the so-called "dubbing 10" system for increasing the number of legal copies of recorded digital television programs.
The system will allow digital TV programs to be copied up to 10 times, instead of once at present.
The system was initially scheduled for introduction in the beginning of June, but Japanese manufacturers and copyright holders were opposing to the rule.
