Facebook Introduces Riff And Scrapbook
Facebook kicked off this week with the announcement of two apps. With Riff, Facebook has created a Snapchat and Vine hybrid. WIth S, you can organize photos of your child, using a special tag you choose to create. Riff is a creative tool to make videos with friends. All you have to do is give it a topic, like #AprilFools, then your friends can view it and choose to add their own clips (under 20 seconds) on that topic. Once a friend adds a clip to your video, your friend’s friends will also be shown the video in Riff and will be able to add to it. The potential pool of creative collaborators can grow exponentially from there, so a short video can become an inventive project between circles of friends that you can share to Facebook, or anywhere on the internet.
Riff, a Facebook Creative Labs app, is available on the Play Store and App Store.
Facebook is also starting to pilot an optional way for you to organize photos of your child, using a special tag you choose to create.
To start a scrapbook for your child, go to your profile, click on About and click on Family and Relationships. There, you’ll see an invitation to create a scrapbook; just click Get Started. If you’ve already added a child to your profile, you can click Add Scrapbook next to his or her name.
This feature will start rolling out today in the US on Facebook for desktop, iPhone and Android.
