French multimedia distributor innelec mentioned in a financial press release that the VR-focused Sony PS4 4K Neo system will hit th emarket in Ocrober, but later the company denied it.
The specific press release
includes Innelec's financial outlook, and in the paragraph about the 2016/17 perspectives, it mentions that the Sony PS4 4K Neo will launch in October along with the PlayStation VR headset, in a combianaion that could challenge the Windows PC based Oculus and HTC Vive.
Innelec later issued a statement, in which the company denied any official information about the launch of a PS4 4K Neo. The company says that they have no knowledge about a new Sony console.
The Sony PlayStation Neo is expected to use AMD's GPU based on the upcoming Polaris architutecure. It could be officially announced during the Tokyo Game Show 2016 (TGS 2016), which will kick of September 15.
