Gigabyte Announces Intel 975X Chipset-Based Motherboard
Gigabyte unveiled today the GA-G1975X, the first in a series of G1-Turbo motherboards, designed for overclockers and hardcore gamers.
The new motherboard uses Gigabyte's proprietary Turbojet Technology to efficiently remove heat generated by the CPU, north bridge and memory, and is designed to cope with abnormally tough thermal conditions. This is achieved by directing airflow over and away from heat generating components; two fans are dedicated to sucking warm air out the back of the system while another two drive air over the system memory, an area on the motherboard that is often neglected by cooling systems.
Featuring the Intel 975X Express chipset, the GA-G1975X comes with dual PCI-E graphics slots supporting two 8-lane PCI Express links for multi-view output.
The GA-G1975X also incorporates on-board surround sound, powered by the Creative Sound Blaster Live 24-bit.
GIGABYTE has cleverly included a C.R.S (CMOS Reload Switch) that provides convenient CMOS default settings retrieval and auto system reboot. A smart and tool for overclockers, it allows the user to reload the CMOS default settings when the system is unable to boot up.
GA-G1975X Specifications:
Intel Pentium Processor Extreme Edition/Pentium D/Pentium 4
Intel 975X Express and ICH7R chipsets
1066/800/533MHz FSB
