Google Announces First Glass Work Certified Partners

Enterprise & IT Jun 17,2014 0

Glass, Google 's controversial smart headset is about to officially arrive in the workplace. Google has chosen the first five companies that will be allowed to create specific apps for Google Glass. These apps will be related to healthcare, culture, sports and entertainment and enterprise.

Augmedix is developing services via Glass for doctors that will help them spend more time focused on their patients and less time staring at a computer or chasing up records and other information. The company says the apps have cut doctors' data input time from 33 percent of the working day to 9 percent, while upping direct patient care from 35 percent to 70 percent.

GuidiGo is looking at bringing cultural exhibitions to life by augmenting the museum and art gallery experience with Glass to help tell stories and link exhibits and artifacts together.

APX Labs makes Skylight, a business software for Glass that provides workers with hands-free, real-time access to enterprise data.

CrowdOptic?s software detects significant broadcast events from mobile and wearable devices, and provides content for live broadcasts and context-aware applications for the sports, entertainment, building/security, and medical industries.

Wearable Intelligence creates Glassware for energy, manufacturing, healthcare, and more.

Since announcing the Glass at Work initiative, Google says that it has received applications from hundreds of enterprise developers.
