Google could face a $5 billion fine for violating Indian antitrust laws, following a two-year investigation by Indian fair trade watchdog. The Competition Commission of India has been inverstigating whether Google is unfairly using its dominant position in the internet search engine segment. If cound guilty, Google could face a fine up to 10 percent its global revenue.

Google said it has been fully cooperating with India's authorities.

Unlike with similar antitrust cases in the U.S. and E.U., India's antitrust laws do not allow for a settlement.

Google has already reached settlements with the E.U. and the a U.S. Federal Trade Commission in similar antitrust cases.
