Hitachi Maxell Releases Double-layer Blu-Ray Media
Hitachi Maxell announced today that its first BD-R DL media (50GB) for video recording will retail in June.
The new discs offer sufficient capacity to store 260 minutes of high-definition video. The Blu-Ray discs can be recorded at 1x and 2x speeds. They use inorganic materials to form up the recording layer, while their hard-coating structure ensure resistance against fingerprint and dust.
