Optical Storage Jan 7,2020 0

Pioneer will release later this month in Japan the BDR-X12J-UHD and the BDR-X12JBK external Blu-ray disc burners.

Compatible with PC and Mac computers, the burners support 16x burning with BD-R media (SL 25GB), along with playback of "Ultra HD Blu-ray" discs (BDR-X12J-UHD model - HDMI2.0a, HDCP2.2, and HDR standards are required) as well as direct import of audio CDs to Android devices.

"PureRead 4+" (BDR-X12J-UHD) and "PureRead 3+" (BDR-X12JBK) functions are availabel to provide more reliable reading of scratched audio CDs . In addition, the BDR-X12J-UHD model is equipped with the "RealTime PureRead" function, which suppresses the frequencies of possible read errors in real time in order to improve the sound of audio CDs.

Songs stored in audio CDs can be directly imported from the drives and being reproduced on Android devices without using a PC. For this gunction, the “Wireless Hi-Res Player-Stellanova” application should be installed on the Android device.

Other features include:

  • Recording and playback of "M-DISC" media for long-term archiving
  • Compatibility with the "Pioneer BD Drive Utility"
  • Power saving mode - stable operation is maintained even when the power supply is not stable by suppressing the drives' power consumption during peak operation.
  • "PowerRead " function to help playback of scratched /dirty or low-quality BD / DVDs. This function works on BD / DVDs recorded in BD-MV, BD-AV, DVD-VIDEO, and DVD-VR formats.
