Hynix Begins Producing 80-nm DRAM
South Korea's Hynix Semiconductor said Tuesday (July 18) it has begun volume production of 80-nm technology-based 512 megabit DDR2 DRAM chips.
The 80-nm technology applied to the 512-Mb DRAM production process at its facility in Icheon (South Korea) is boosting the company's productivity 50 percent over the current 90 nm- line, the company said.
"The launch of mass production of 80-nm DRAM chips will help Hynix take the initiative in developing 60-nm DRAMs in future," a company spokesman said.
