Intel Optane 905P Series 3D XPoint SSDs Coming Soon
The specifications of Intel's upcoming Optane 905P 960 GB SSD have surfaced on Newegg, with a surprisingly high $1,600 price.
Although not officially confirmed yet, INtel's new flagship consumer SSD comes in both PCI-Express 3.0 x4 add-on card (up to 960 GB) and 15 mm-thick 2.5-inch 32 Gbps U.2 (up to 480 GB) form-factors.
The drive offers sequential transfer rates of up to 2600 MB/s reads, with up to 2200 MB/s writes. The 4K random access prformance reached the 575,000 IOPS random reads, and up to 550,000 IOPS random writes, with under 10's (micro-seconds) latencies.
The SSD has a rated endurance of 10 DWPD (drive writes per day).
In addition to the above products, a new generation of low-capacity Optane Memory cache drives is on the way. The Optane Memory M10 is already listed by at least one third-party seller on both Amazon and Newegg, and Intel has indicated they will be providing review samples soon. The Optane Memory M10 is expected to add a 64GB capacity option and may include a shorter M.2 card than the M.2 2280 size used for the existing Optane Memory and Optane SSD 800P.
