Enterprise & IT Sep 9,2004 0

InterVideo announced that more than 100 million copies of WinDVD, the award winning and market leading software for DVD playback on a PC, have been sold worldwide since its first release in 1999.

WinDVD(R) installations have increased by an additional 25 million units since InterVideo's previous public announcement.

Highly recognized and praised from editors around the world, WinDVD(R) 6 maintains the tradition of excellence of WinDVD(R) the ultimate DVD playback solution. Available in two versions: WinDVD(R) 6 Platinum, the top of the line DVD player with advanced video and audio formats and WinDVD(R) 6 Gold, the standard consumer edition.

Incorporated in WinDVD(R) 6 Platinum is the latest in video technologies such as Trimension(TM) DNM for a flawlessly smooth motion playback, and the first-class suite of audio technologies that now include DVD-Audio(R), Intel(R) High Definition Audio, and Windows(R) Media Video High Definition (WMV-HD) so users can enjoy movies with full fidelity audio and crystal clear video quality. WinDVD(R) 6 Gold as well as Platinum include the advanced audio features of Dolby Digital(R), Dolby Headphone(R), and Dolby Virtual(R) Speaker.

Both editions of WinDVD(R) 6 include two fun new features, Quick Clip and Smooth Reverse Playback that enable the user to take their movie entertainment to the next level of enjoyment by sharing favorite animated picture clips with friends or watching a video sequence in reverse. Also included in both versions is the ability to support the playback of Real (R), Quick Time(R), and even Windows(R) Media files which makes WinDVD(R) 6 a universal player.

Still included in the latest version of WinDVD(R) 6 is My Playback, enabling consumers to create their own playlists with audio tracks or video files from DVDs, VCDs, and CDs. Also built into this ultimate DVD playback solution is InterVideo's proprietary Time-Stretching technology that allows users to watch a movie in the time that they have available and Pal TruSpeed Playback that automatically corrects the 4% speed pitch error for PAL format and using Time-Stretching technology maintains natural audio quality.
