Kinect 2.0 Supports Gesture controls
Microsoft has added some new technology to the Kinect game controller that developers will be soon able to incorporate into their apps.
According to a YouTube video posted online by Microsoft Research, "Kinect 2.0" captures movement of the hands more accurately than current Kinect hardware and software, and can even be used to maneuver Windows 8 apps. Kinect recognizes when a person makes a fist and then interpret gestures made with the clenched hand.
Hand gestures that allow you to pinch-to-zoom objects on the screen and even duplicate mouse functions have been also reportedly added to the developers' kit for the Kinect.
The new Xbox, expected to be released later this year, may support the new Kinect.
