KIOXIA aimed for the top with the Exceria Pro series and by using their memory modules, assembled a great product that not only looks nice on paper but also performs very well. The Exceria Pro series was announced back in 2021 and introduced to the market as a quality product from KIOXIA and till today, stays strong and competitive at the PCIe Gen4 2TB Market.

The product includes 2GB DRAM onboard, which helps the drive at both reading/writing speeds. For sure you will get 7.4GB/s reading and around 6.4GB/s writing (sequential) speeds that will help you with everyday tasks and mostly with the creator's tasks (video/audio encoding). Such high-speed drives are also compatible with the PS5 NVME expansion slot. After formatting the drive you will get around 1.86TB and the product can stand up to 800TBW wear, which is less than what other vendors offer (1200TBW) but again it's very high for everyday use.

The KIOXIA Exceria Pro 2TB is a PCIe Gen4, and the high reading/write speeds, introduce also high working temperatures as well. The product doesn't include any heatsink and for sure you will need such. We highly suggest the be quiet! MC1 Pro NVME SSD cooler, which will cool down this product very good

The retail price of the KIOXIA Exceria Pro 2TB is around ~185 Euro (depending on region and local VAT) and it's priced on par with other high-end performance Gen4 NVME drives (like Samsung 980Pro / Kingston KC3000 / Samsung 990Pro). The 5 years warranty is a big plus and the 800TBW should be enough, unless you transfer more than 420GB per day X 365days X 5 years on your KIOXIA Exceria Pro 2TB NVME drive.

Overall we were pleased to see that KIOXIA has a solid product that offers high performance and good reliability, we feel the retail price should be lowered to be more competitive with other vendors and we are more than excited to see what KIOXIA will bring to the market when PCIe Gen 5-enabled drives are released.
