Leica Camera AG has released the ‘Street Kit’ – a set comprising the compact Leica CL system camera and a Leica Summicron-TL 23 mm f/2 ASPH. lens.
Together with a Leica Summicron-TL 23 mm f/2 ASPH. lens, the CL is a compact, high-performance set of equipment. With an equivalent focal length of 35 mm in 35 mm format, this lens is a classic for reportage photography. The ‘Street Kit’ set is completely in black and includes a handgrip, a leather carrying strap and a second camera battery.
A 24-megapixel sensor, fast autofocus and a continuous shooting rate of up to ten frames per second make the Leica CL a great companion for spontaneous travel photography. Its features include an EyeRes electronic viewfinder with a latency time below the threshold of perception and a resolution of 2.36 million pixels. As the final image is visible in the viewfinder before the shutter release is pressed, users have complete control over the composition of their subjects.
The Leica CL also captures video at a resolution of up to 4K. Thanks to wireless connection to the Leica FOTOS app, pictures can be sent to a smartphone and shared in social media networks.
All the essential controls of the CL are located on the top plate of the camera. In addition to the electronic viewfinder, there are two dials for setting the aperture, shutter speed, ISO value and the exposure mode. An additional display on the top plate provides information about all relevant settings and exposure parameters.
In addition to the Summicron-TL 23 mm f/2 ASPH. lens of the Street Kit, a range of TL-Lenses is also available for the Leica CL, with focal lengths ranging from 17 to 200 mm. As a consequence of the ‘L-Mount Alliance’, announced shortly before the opening of photokina 2018, which grants Panasonic and Sigma licenses to use the L-Mount Standard developed by Leica and offer lenses and cameras with this lens mount, the Leica CL is also prepared for future developments.
The Leica CL camera with 23mm Lens Street Kit is available or $4,200.
