The upcoming LG G6 flagship smartphone will not feature a dual-curved OLED displat, as LG Display isn’t yet capable of shipping enough OLED panels for the phone, a report claims.
LG was apparently planning to take on the Samsung Galaxy S8 with a dual-curved edge display early next year. However, LG Display, the provider of the high-end display panels for the phone, will be able to supply the required quantity only in the second half of 2017, according to this report
from South Korea.
LG has also reportedly developed a new resonant magnetic technology for wireless charging, which will allow multiple smartphones to be charged when placed 2-3cm from the charger. This technology too isn’t likely to be ready in time for the G6.
The report also claims the smartphone is going to feature a metal body with a tempered glass finish.
