LG on Thursday unveiled in Seoul a new addition to its ultralight computer lineup with a 15.6-inch Full HD display. Gram 15 laptop also boasts a strong battery that lasts up to 10.5 hours. The new laptop weighs only 980 grams. The weight is around 50 percent lighter than other rival models of the same size.

The laptop features either Intel's i5 or i7 processor, 8GB of RAM and 256 and 512GB storage options, with its price range from 1.55 million won ($1,280) to 2.29 million won.

The company earlier rolled out laptops weighing less than 1 kilograms in 13-inch and 14-inch models.

The company said it cast bright outlook on the Gram 15, as 15-inch-level laptops took up 50 percent of South Korea's laptop sales as of the third quarter of 2015.
