LiteOn America announces 52x CD-ROM

General Interest Dec 16,2003 0

Lite-On IT introduces a new 5 1/4” internal LTN-527T CD-ROM drive featuring a short loader chassis that provides enhanced heat dissipation. Lite-On delivers this new CD-ROM that is capable of reading the following file formats: CD-DA, CD-ROM, CD-ROM/XA, Photo-CD, Multi-session, Karaoke-CD, Video CD, CD-I FMV, CD Extra, CD Plus, CD-R and CD-RW. Innovative SMART-X technology provides smooth and efficient Audio CD / VCD playback and high-performance DAE / VCD data extraction.

With an on-board 128KB data buffer and a maximum 7,800 KBPS data transfer rate, the LTN-527T is one of the fastest products in the CD-ROM category. The typical full stroke access time rates at 160 ms, while the maximum full stroke access time reaches 200 ms. Additionally, the ground-breaking “Auto Balance Spindle” design reduces noise and vibration during operation. This short loader design, high performance specifications and whisper quiet operation are innovations that users expect from Lite-On products. The LTN-527T does not deviate from those expectations.

The LTN-527T also supports a power saving function which is compliant with the EPA energy star standard.

Supported Operating System platforms include Windows 95/98SE/ME/XP/2000 environments.

Lite-On DVD and CD drives are available through select retailers, resellers and distributors in the North American and South American geographies. This Lite-On LTN-527T comes with a standard one-year limited warranty from the original date of purchase. Volume shipments of the LTN-527T begin in December 2003.
