Microsoft May Offer Xbox for $99
Microsoft is reportedly set to announce next week a new marketing plan for Xbox 360. According to a report from the Verge, the company might start selling a subscription bundle of Xbox and Kinect.
The bundle would cost $99 at the outset with a monthly cost of $15 over the course of a two-year contract. Following the policy applied for mobile phones, there would be fees associated with breaking the contract before its time. Customers who pay out the full term, will end up shelling out $459, more than they?d have to pay if they bought the system and an Xbox Live Gold Subscription up front.
Microsoft's move would fall into the company's efforts to turn the Xbox from a gaming device into an entertainment option similar to a cable subscription.
Microsoft has not provided any comment to the report.
