Motorola Introduces New DROID Turbo 2 and DROID Maxx 2

Motorola Introduces New DROID Turbo 2 and DROID Maxx 2

Smartphones Oct 27,2015 0

Motorola's DROID brand now includes two new new versions: the DROID Turbo 2 featuring Moto ShatterShield, a shatterproof display, and the new DROID Maxx 2, offering longer battery life and a more powerful processor. The new DROID Turbo 2 features Moto ShatterShield, the first shatterproof display. The technology is an integrated system consisting of five layers designed from materials that absorb shock from impact and are guaranteed not to shatter.

The first layer is an aluminum core that provides structural integrity and durability. On top of that, Motorola has added in an AMOLED flexible display. Using a flexible display absorbs shock and makes it possible to flex during a drop versus breaking like most screens. Then, a dual touch layer with redundancy was created to help it survive accidents. The next layer is the interior lens which provides a protective shield that won?t crack or shatter. Lastly, Motorola topped it off with an exterior lens that has a hardcoat that helps protect the display against normal wear and tear.

But the DRIOD Turbo 2 is more than just a phone with a shatterproof screen. It features Motorola's best camera yet, TurboPower charging and Moto Maker customization. Here?s more:

  • Up to 48 hours of battery life
  • TurboPower charging, so you can get up to 13 hours of power in just 15 minutes
  • 21MP camera with a 5MP front-facing camera
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 with 2.0 GHz quad-core CPUs
  • Ultra hi-res 5.4-in Quad HD display
  • Expandable microSD card storage (up to 2 TB)
  • More than 1,000 ways to design your phone the way you want on Moto Maker. New material options include soft grip, ballistic nylon or Horween pebbled leather
  • Select 64GB with a design refresh on Moto Maker by December 31, 2015, and you can choose to redesign your phone one time within two years of purchase

Motorola also announce the latest in the DROID Maxx line, the DROID Maxx 2. Here?s what you get:

  • A long-lasting battery -- giving you up to 48 hours of power
  • TurboPower charging offers up to eight hours of power in 15 minutes of charging
  • With just a quick twist of the wrist, take photos and video with a 21MP camera featuring rapid focus and color-balancing flash
  • 5.5" full 1080p HD display
  • Expandable microSD card slot for up to 128GB of storage
  • Customize it with a variety of interchangeable backs and protective fli

Both new DRIODs will be available online and in stores starting Oct. 29. The DRIOD Turbo 2 will be $26 per month for 24 months ($624 retail price) or $30 per month for 24 months ($720 retail price) with design refresh. And the DRIOD Maxx 2 will be $16 per month for 24 months ($384 retail price).
