New Firmware For Intel 750 Series SSD MAkes Your PC Booy Up Faster
Intel has released a firmware update for the 750 Series SSDs that should improve your computers boot time.
The firmware is included in the Intel Solid-State Drive Data Center Tool. According to Intel, it improves the Boot time of this drive significantly. However, Intel clarifies that even with the improvements, the boot time of the Intel SSD 750 series may take longer than SATA drives, primarily due to how long it takes to initialize PCIe devices. Once the 750 is in operation, it far exceeds the performance of SATA SSD's.
The 750 Series is an NVMe device, meaning it is built from the ground up to take advantage of non-volatile memory (the media of all current SSDs). A prerequisite of using NVMe is that the device must attach Via PCI Express for increased bandwidth. A combination of NVMe and PCIe allow the 750 Series to offer performance up to 4x faster than SATA.
