New VAIO Z Series Hybrid Laptops Released
Vaio, the famous brand that until recently was owned by Sony, announced two new PCs in Japan: the VAIO Z and VAIO Z Canvas. The flagship 13.3-inch VAIO Z will go up for preorder in Japan later today for about 190,000 yen in Japan, which is over $1,600. It features a second -generation SSD and a fifth-generation Core i7 processor, all bound up in aluminum-carbon shell.
The Z weighs 1.34kg and measures in at 16.8mm thick. It battery Vwill be powerful enough for 15.5 hours (!) of use. To accomplish this, VAIO's engineers recomposed the battery inside the Z, shedding several layers inside the cell to improve capacity without impinging on weight or size. There's also a special power-saving display mode, where the screen projects its light in a narrower angle, which can apparently drop power consumption down by a 40 percent when compared to typical LCD.
The VAIO Z Canvas will be releawsed in in May. It features a detachable keyboard, a 12.1-inch 2,560 x 1,704 display with a color reproduction covers 95 percent the Adobe RGB color gamut.
The device is also comes with a digitizer stylus and will offer up to 1TB of storage.
