Apple has decided to opem up access to its iWork suite of productivity apps to PC users, besides those already owning an iPhone or a Mac. Until now, using iWork and accessing documents created with it was only possible with an Apple iCloud account plus an Apple device -- an iPhone, an iPad or a Mac.

But a new beta version of the service will run on potentially any compatible computer internet browser, whether installed on a PC or a Mac.

Once signed up, users will also get a free 1GB of cloud storage for saving files created using iWork.
