Nexus 5 Smartphone To Have Nikon Technology Inside

Nexus 5 Smartphone To Have Nikon Technology Inside

Smartphones Mar 18,2013 0

The next Google-designed Nexus phone will probably feature rear or side-mounted controls and a Nikon camera, the latest rumors suggest. The Phone Arena published images and specs of what is reportedly the next Nexus-branded Google smartphone. It has a 5-inch HD display and digital camera technology courtesy of Nikon. The camera will carry the Japanese photography company's branding and is rumored to use 'triple image sensor' technology.

The Nexus 5 is expected to be revealed at Google's annual I/O Conference in May and will also reportedly be the first smart device in the world to come with Key Lime Pie -- version 5.0 of the Android operating system. The same source claims the phone will have touch sensors integrated not o the phone's screen but into the bezel around the display or into its rear panel. This claim is also supported by a recent patent application from Google for backside controls on smartphones and tablets.

The new handset is also reported to come with either 8 or 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM. The internal specifications suggest that this handset could be based on the Japanese version of the LG Optimus G Pro. Google's latest Nexus phone was based on the LG Optimus handset.

The new handset could be Google's response to the Samsung Galaxy SIV device, which comes packed full of native apps and Samsung-specific features, showing off Samsung's ability to leverage the Android bones to make a stronger overall device that is bigger than its parts.
