Nvidia Optimizes Quadro Processors For Autocad 2010

Nvidia Optimizes Quadro Processors For Autocad 2010

GPUs Jul 15,2009 0

Nvidia today announced that the NVIDIA Quadro line of professional solutions is now optimized for Autodesk AutoCAD 2010. "By leveraging the advanced features and massively parallel processing capabilities of NVIDIA Quadro professional-class GPUs, it’s possible for our customers to experience a significant performance boost," said Eric Stover, AutoCAD product line manager, Autodesk. "AutoCAD 2010 has been enhanced with 3D modeling features and functionality, and the unprecedented 3D visual quality that results from using Quadro GPUs will give designers of all types a strong professional advantage."

In addition to maximizing productivity, the benefits of combining Quadro solutions with AutoCAD 2010 include:

Nvidia claims that the Quadro processors offer the best price performance for workstation graphics with the optimal blend of quality, precision and performance. They also enable up to a 5X performance increase in '3D Hidden' visual style and faster interactive manipulation of models in 'Conceptual' and 'Realistic' visual styles.

The processors can be also easily manipulated and interact with large scale models while working at the maximum visual quality that is necessary to render high-polygon 3D models precisely.

Quadro processors are also offering higher image quality without sacrificing performance with AutoCAD smooth lines display, a Quadro-specific feature available through NVIDIA’s AutoCAD performance driver.

Finally, NVIDIA nView advanced display software delivers maximum flexibility for single-large display or multi-display options at resolutions up to 2560 x 1600 per display.

NVIDIA’s new performance drivers for AutoCAD 2010 are free and available for download from NVIDIA’s Web site: www.nvidia.com. The drivers are available as either a standalone package or integrated in the latest graphics driver available from NVIDIA.

NVIDIA Quadro professional solutions are available through system manufacturers such as Dell, Fujistu Technology Solutions, HP and Lenovo; leading workstation system integrators; and NVIDIA channel partners PNY Technologies (US and EMEA), Leadtek (APAC) and Elsa (Japan). NVIDIA Quadro solutions range from USD $100 (for entry-level) to USD $3,000 (ultra high-end).

NVIDIA ION Case Mod Contest

Nvidia also announced a case mod contest for the ION-based systems.

Starting Monday, July 13th, residents of the United States and Canada can submit ideas for an NVIDIA ION platform-based case mod in the ION mod forums on www.modders-inc.com. Modders-Inc, CPU Magazine, and NVIDIA will narrow down the list to the top 30.

Five professional modders will then select their five favorite ideas from the list of 30, and build ION-based case mods inspired by those ideas.

The modders along with their creations will be featured in the November issue of CPU Magazine, and the winning mod will be featured on the cover of the December issue. Judging will be based on overall design, creativity, compact size, and functionality, Nvidia said.

The winning mod will be awarded as a prize to the person who conceived the original idea. The four runners-up whose ideas were also built into actual mods will win a Zotac ION motherboard, a copy of The Sims 3, and 1400 Battle funds for Battlefield Heroes. All 30 individuals whose ideas were selected will receive a free subscription to CPU Magazine.

The contest is open to residents of the United States and Canada who are 13 years and older. Entries must be submitted between July 13th and August 10th. For more information and ongoing updates go to www.nvidia.com/ion or follow @nvidiaion on Twitter.
