Panasonic Launches Six New Blu-ray DVR
Panasonic announced today the release a new series of "Blu-ray DIGA" Digital Video Recorders (DVR) for the Japanese market, equipped with HDDs and BD recording drives.
The new "Blu-ray DIGA" lineup includes the DMR-BW970, DMR-BW870, DMR-BW770, DMR-BW570, DMR-BR570 and the DMR-BR670V models. They will be available in Japan in the 1st of September, Panasonic said.
The DMR-BW970 model is the company's high-end model offering a HDD capacity of 2TB. This means that you would be able to record up to 320hours of video in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 @ 12.9Mbps.
The DMR-BW870 uses a 1TB HDD, the DMR-BW770 is equiped with a 500GB HDD while the DMR-BW570 , DMR-BR570 and the DMR-BR670 model use a 230 GB HDD.
The DMR-BR670V also offers a VHS player that can be used to transfer your VHS movies to the HDD or a BD/DVD disc.
These new Video recorders are equipped with the latest generation of its UniPhier system LSI that integrates new AV data compression/decompression technology.
All the models also support Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD, DTS-HD, can record on BD-RE / BD-R / DVD-RAM / DVD-R / DVD R DL / DVD-RW, and of course features HDMI output, SDHC card slot, the VIERA Link, and is DLNA.
New 3D Full HD and 4k-2k Capable HDMI Cables
Panasonic also today announced te release of six new HDMI cables capable of transmitting at speeds of up to 10.2Gbps.
The RP-CDHX series, available in different sizes, are Panasonic latest HDMI cables supporting a 10.2Gbps speed and compliant with the future 3D Full HD as well as supporting 4K and 2K resolution and Deep Color.
The silver-plated cables (type A, 19-pin digital video / audio / control signals) will be available in lengths of 1m - 10m. Availability in Japan will start next month.
