Razer establishes zVentures Web3 Incubator for the development of next gen Web3 gaming

Razer establishes zVentures Web3 Incubator for the development of next gen Web3 gaming

Enterprise & IT Apr 12,2023 0

Razer is introducing the zVentures Web3 Incubator (ZW3I) for game companies and developers worldwide. zVentures is Razer’s early-stage ventures arm and an integral component of Razer’s strategic investment activities. Through ZW3I, Razer aims to help build the next generation of blockchain-enabled gaming companies and projects.

Web3-enabled games to date have struggled with engaging and reaching the core gamer community. While blockchain capabilities have the potential to enhance the gamer experience, incorporating it successfully is a complex endeavor and requires a deep understanding of what gamers’ behavior and individual motivations are in a game. Furthermore, many blockchain games currently on the market focus primarily on blockchain technology integration rather than leveraging the technology to optimize and improve gameplay. This results in players losing interest and low retention.

As such, zVentures will leverage ZW3I to prioritize game quality in its selection process for identifying promising Web 3.0 game titles and partners. The focus will be on supporting established game companies with a strong track record in creating successful games, as they transition to incorporating blockchain technology and enter the Web 3.0 ecosystem. By utilizing their existing expertise in game development, these companies have the potential to create engaging and enjoyable blockchain games that will attract a wider player base, thereby driving the growth and adoption of blockchain technology in the gaming industry.

“The gaming experience is the most important aspect of any successful game launch. With blockchain technologies and support from companies with strong gaming knowledge, we are certain that Web 3.0 will revolutionize this experience for all,” said Lawrence Lin, Director of Blockchain at Razer. “ZW3I will help to foster close collaboration with pioneering gaming projects to drive mainstream adoption across the industry.”

Selected game companies will receive access to Razer’s marketing and partnership support programs to help supercharge their journey to build enjoyable and revolutionary games for the global gaming community.

In addition, companies can leverage Razer’s strong ecosystem of hardware, software and services. Each project will receive support tailored to their needs, such as a feature in Razer Cortex: Play to Earn, where gamers can earn Razer Silver via Razer’s rewards program while gaming on their personal computers. Furthermore, selected companies will have access to zVentures’ wide network of partnerships. This includes gaming-focused ecosystem builders, technology platforms and investors such as Animoca Brands, Amazon Web Services, 1Up Ventures, Griffin Gaming Partners, and Play Ventures Future Fund.

zVentures welcomes game companies and partners to reach out to enquire more about ZW3I. For more information, please see https://www.zvntrs.com/zw3i/
